Membership into the LaCrosse Girlchoir carries the commitment to attend all rehearsals and be present at every concert except in extreme circumstances. Please see and subscribe to our Google calendar on the HOME page. Illness on the day of rehearsal should be called into the director. A request to be excused from a rehearsal should be made two weeks prior to the rehearsal being missed by completing an absence form and submitting it to the choir manager. No more than three absences during the course of one semester will be allowed. This is to ensure that the standards of the Girlchoir, as a whole, are upheld. To report an absence to your director the day of rehearsal, please send a text or call. To report an absence in advance of the rehearsal date please text, call, or email.

Scholarships and fundraising opportunities are available each semester.  A tremendous musical training value, dollar for dollar – it breaks down to about $3.00-$3.50 per hour when local vocal instructors are currently charging between $15-$25/hr

Concert Choir is where we start singers that have musical concepts that they need to learn or refine. This ensemble also does not tour other than the school tour. The Touring Choir is the more advanced ensemble that builds on the skills learned in Concert Choir and continues to polish those musical skills. This ensemble also goes on tours depending on the year.

Performances

The “Black and White” outfit is worn for casual performances in the community and before and after formal performances.  Families are responsible for purchasing these items on their own.  The “black and white” outfit includes: * Black knee length straight skirt (strictly knee length – not above or below.) * Concert Choir: White blouse with a peter pan collar Touring Choir: White women’s style T shirt *Black cardigan (can purchase from Lands End) * Black flat shoes The Formal Performance outfit is provided and is a long black dress. We schedule fittings for a rehearsal date. These dresses are not brought home with the girls, so they wear the “Black and White” outfit to the concert and change into and out of the dresses at the performance venue.
